"The art of communication is the language of leadership."

— James Humes

Communication takes many forms. Writing, talking, and drawing are all forms of communicating with others. As an engineer, depending on job title and area of expertise, one may find themself speaking with a client, a manager, a student, a researcher, a CEO... It is important, particularly in STEM fields, to be able to communicate with others, whether a crowd or an individual, written or verbal. My position as a writing consultant at Auburn's Miller Writing Center; acting as an ambassador for Auburn's ePortfolio Project; being a representative on Auburn's University Writing Council; serving as a Senator, VP, and President for the Graduate Student Council; conducting my graduate research; presenting at conferences; and teaching undergraduate labs and courses have given me the platform I needed to become a better communicator.
