Graduate Student Council - Senator, VP & President

As a senator for the GSC, I represented the graduate students in the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering. My service involved voting on matters that effect graduate student life at Auburn and serving as the graduate student representative on the University Writing Committee, then later the Academic Honesty Committee and Student Grievance Committee. My roles have allowed me to gain new perspectives and have taught me how to work with others toward a common goal.

For the 2016-18 academic years, I served as the Vice President of the GSC. My fellow executive board members and I have made a lot of strides to provide free babysitting services to graduate students, make administration aware of important issues, and effectively share information with graduate students at various events. In order to fulfill my duties as VP, I had to actively communicate with different audiences. In doing this, I have learned that I also need to be a good listener and observer.

I was elected GSC President for the 2018-19 academic year. My primary goals as President were to aid in creating guidelines for graduate students and advisors through feedback and survey results, serving as an aid for my fellow executive board members, and actively listen to graduate students to provide resources and information to best help them in their graduate careers. In this role, I led by being of service to others and raising their voices.
